In the early 1930s, Samuel Lindsay was a Gandy Dancer, one of the unsung heroes who built America's railways with rhythmic precision and sheer strength. It was by Samuel and his team’s hands that the foundation for America's westward progress was laid, one hammer swing at a time.

Samuel's story is one of perseverance, grit, and endurance—the same qualities that define Samuel Lindsay Wines. As Samuel and his crew carved paths for the railroads, they relied on synchronized chants to coordinate their efforts, transforming grueling work into harmonious teamwork. The influence of the songs and chants of the Gandy Dancers can still be felt today in the blues, gospel, jazz, and even rock and roll.
